Area of Practice & Background

Olivia is a skilled lawyer specializing in all areas of family law, including divorce, custody and access, child and spousal support and division of property. A litigator at heart, she has experience before Ontario’s Superior Court of Justice, including the Family Court, as well as the Ontario Court of Justice. Olivia is dedicated to providing personalized service to all of her clients and is a passionate family law advocate.

Prior to joining Sutherland Law, Olivia articled in the family law department in a full-service firm, where she regularly attended at courthouses throughout the Greater Toronto Area and several mediations, arbitrations and questionings. During her articling term, she refined her legal research and writing skills, including the assistance of the research for a paper that was presented at the 2018 Family Law Summit and since published in the Canadian Family Law Quarterly Journal.

Olivia holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminology with a minor in Philosophy from York University, where she graduated Cum Laude. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Olivia did volunteer work with the Canadian Breast Cancer foundation and utilized her mentoring skills as a piano teacher for children.

Olivia earned her Juris Doctor from the Faculty of Law at the University of Windsor. While in law school, she volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and served as a Family Law Coach for a pilot project organized within the Family Law Project. Olivia assisted self-represented litigants in navigating the legal challenges of the family law courts.

Olivia is a proud dog mom and an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. In her spare time, Olivia loves to travel, play soccer and catch-up on her favourite shows on Netflix.
